Researchers in the US have linked high levels of low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) to the risk of early-onset Alzheimer’s disease.
In the study, researchers looked at the levels of cholesterol in the blood of people with early-onset Alzheimer’s disease and healthy volunteers.
The team found that people with elevated levels of LDL cholesterol, sometimes called ‘bad’ cholesterol, are linked to the risk of early-onset Alzheimer’s disease.
We were very lucky to have 26 Virgin London Marathon Runners who completed the course successfully this year. It’s such an incredibly positive day, with so much good being done, not least of which over 40,000 runners achieve their goal to run the London marathon. The day means so much to HEART UK and helps us in many ways.

Hello, I’m Lynne and I’m delighted to have joined the HEART UK team as one of their Dietetic Advisor’s. Since I’ve started, it’s been a busy couple of months getting to know everyone and learning all about the charity’s fantastic work. I’m absolutely thrilled to be working alongside such awesome, dedicated and enthusiastic people.
