Creamy Porridge With Summer Berries

Ingredients

600 ml (1 pint) water

125 g (4oz) porridge oats

150 ml (1/4 pint) skimmed milk

1 handful of fresh, frozen and thawed, tinned or cooked berries, such as raspberries, strawberries, blackberries or cranberries

Start your day with this nutritious, yet delicious, breakfast.

Oats are a great source of soluble fibre and the berries helps towards your 5 a day. Fresh, frozen, tinned and dried fruit all count.

Ingredients

600 ml (1 pint) water

125 g (4oz) porridge oats

150 ml (1/4 pint) skimmed milk

1 handful of fresh, frozen and thawed, tinned or cooked berries, such as raspberries, strawberries, blackberries or cranberries

Method

Place the water and oats in a saucepan and bring to the boil. Simmer for 10-20 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Add the skimmed milk, stir and simmer for a few more minutes.

Serve with your chosen berries.
