Portfolio Dietary Pattern and Cardiovascular Disease: A Systematic Review and Meta-analysis of Controlled Trials

The combination of a portfolio dietary pattern (similar to HEART UK’s UCLP) reduced LDL-C by ~17%, as well as non-high-density lipoprotein cholesterol, apolipoprotein B, total cholesterol, triglycerides, systolic and diastolic blood pressure, C-reactive protein, and estimated 10-year coronary heart disease (CHD) risk, when compared to a traditional low saturated fat diet.
