NHSE&I is working with Novartis Pharmaceuticals UK Ltd as part of a collaboration which includes resources in the form of funding, skills, expertise, project management and administrative support. Cholesterol Now is part of this collaboration for which Novartis has provided funding. HEART UK have contributed expertise in the development of the materials and hosted this initiative on their website, AAC have contributed to the development of the strategy, campaign and materials. Both the AAC and Novartis have checked these materials for factual accuracy and against the relevant guidance or codes, as applicable.

Cardiovascular disease (CVD) remains the leading cause of premature mortality in England, causing a quarter of all deaths in the UK (1). Improving the treatment of high-risk conditions, such as high cholesterol, is a vital part of CVD prevention. As set out in the NHS Long Term Plan - CVD is the single biggest area where the NHS can save lives over the next 10 years
