Dr. Kofi Antwi is a Specialty Registrar in Chemical Pathology based at the Bristol Royal Infirmary’s department of Clinical Biochemistry. He completed an MSc in Public Health and Health Services degree in 2015 at Newcastle University. His research focus was on the social determinants of health and the association between lipid biomarkers, physical activity and socioeconomic status on a population level. He further completed his MBBS at Newcastle University in 2016. Presently, Dr. Antwi works in the adult and paediatric lipid clinics at Bristol Royal Infirmary and the diabetes clinic at Weston General Hospital.  He sees patients presenting with a wide range of lipid disorders including familial hypercholesterolaemia, metabolic and other causes of dyslipidaemia and elevated Lp(a). His particular interests include impact of diet, exercise and other lifestyle factors on dyslipidaemia and cardiovascular disease, severe hypertriglyceridaemia and its acute presentation and establishing pathways to optimise patients with prior vascular disease or at high risk of vascular disease.
